Time to Enjoy in San Gimignano

With tickets to see Maestro Andrea Bocelli at Teatro del Silenzio, a friend arrived from the UK, ready to collect a Fiat 500 and head for the hills! Our plan was to have a late lunch after checking into our agriturismo.

Arriving a little later than we’d thought – mainly because it was such a lovely drive – there was only one spot open to get lunch. And a brand new spot at that! …just outside the ancient wall and back around the road a little is Enjoy bar.

Highly recommended by our agriturismo host – we were not disappointed. Far from it – they happily accommodated our request for a late lunch with one of the best burgers I’ve ever eaten and a couple of cold beers to quench our thirsts on the hot day! …and then an Aperol spritz for me – I just can’t drink that much beer – fills me up!

  

 The terrazzo offers views across the valley, with a choice of “sit-upons” – tables and chairs, lounges from old pallets and plump cushions, or colourful bean bags. Inside the bar is great open space, high ceilings and a modern relaxed feeling.

Lunch was so good that after a stroll through San Gimignano we returned for a long relaxed dinner.

Very popular with locals and visitors, the terrazzo was filled with groups of friends, families and couples enjoy a stunning evening, aperitivo or dinner. There was no rush. As the sun disappeared, candles were lit and subtle lighting turned on, but not so much as to distract from the view. And the crowd kept enjoying a wonderful evening in San Gimignano.
